Kristy Kuhn, RYT 500, ACSM-HFS, ACE-CPT
Certified Yoga Teacher and Certified Personal Trainer
Kristy is a 500hr Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (certified through YogaWorks, NYC), certified Health/Fitness Specialist (American College of Sports Medicine) and certified personal trainer (American Council on Exercise). While working as an Exercise Specialist in corporate fitness and dancer in NYC, she discovered that her yoga practice provided the much needed grounded-ness, shift of perspective and mind/body connection for surviving the hectic, yet wonderfully fulfilling life as a performing artist.
Teaching yoga naturally evolved out of her love for the practice and her desire to provide opportunities for others to experience the wonderful benefits of yoga, whether in a yoga class or by integrating principles of breath, alignment and whole body awareness in fitness sessions. She views her role as that of a guide who assists students along their path toward greater self-awareness and overall health. Kristy strives to provide a warm, supportive environment and safe sequencing where one can direct their focus inward and openly embrace the present moment by focusing on their body and breath both in motion and stillness. Her background in dance, exercise science, yoga and other mind/body disciplines helps to create classes and private sessions tailored to individual needs.
Kristy has an MFA in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BS in Biology and dance minor from Bucknell University where she taught as a Visiting Assistant Professor in 2009 and 2011. Kristy continues to dance professionally in Boston with Weber Dance and loves integrating her passions for movement and exercise science. She enjoys learning through her movement studies and working with clients.
