More About Chiropractic
Chiropractic is the most commonly utilized form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in the United States, focusing on the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Doctors of Chiropractic practice a safe and effective hands-on approach without the use of drugs or surgery. In our Back Bay office, chiropractic care incorporates deep tissue work, manual manipulation, chiropractic adjustment, as well as therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises. Adjunctive chiropractic therapies also include ultrasound, muscle stimulation, cold laser, and heat. Individualized treatment plans aim to identify the underlying cause of each condition rather than merely alleviating symptoms.
Randomized controlled trials support the efficacy of chiropractic treatment for common acute and chronic conditions such as headaches, neck pain and low back pain. Patients have found chiropractic care to be helpful in the treatment of disc injuries, sciatic pain, strain and sprain injuries, nerve pain, vertigo, plantar fasciitis and IT band syndrome. Common overuse conditions such rotator cuff injuries, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome and other forms of tendonitis also respond well to chiropractic treatment. Our goal is to have patients experience symptom relief, increased range of motion, and a greater sense of well-being through a combination of chiropractic care and physiotherapy modalities.
