What does a "Sports Chiropractor" do?

From the Desk of Dr. Erik S. Vose...
Sports Chiropractors integrate a combination of soft tissue therapy with joint mobilization to help a person achieve balance and optimum function from their body.  Although some of the patients that we see are very accomplished athletes, the treatments that high level athletes receive also work very well on people of all activity levels with a variety of injuries, ranging from acute to chronic conditions.  The Chiropractic treatment that is offered at OMBE is unique for three main reasons.
The first reason is that a typical follow-up visit is almost an hour long.  In this hour a history and examination are performed followed by appropriate soft tissue treatment such as heat, ultrasound, deep tissue muscle work and joint assessment.
The second reason is that we spend a lot of time not just evaluating the condition that brought someone into the office, but to figure out why it has happened in the first place.  This is often done by looking at the biomechanical patterns of the entire body, not just the area of the chief complaint.
The third reason that makes this treatment unique is that every facet of the treatment and home care instructions are individualized to each patient's needs and is re-evaluated at each visit.

A holistic approach to determining what a person's problem is and finding a treatment and solution to that specific problem is our specialty, regardless of a person's activity level, chief complaint or stage of their condition.  Please take advantage of the complimentary consultation that we offer to answer any questions you may have.
