Prenatal acupuncture is a relaxing and therapeutic treatment designed to benefit both mom and baby.  Acupuncture has been found to be effective for a wide variety of prenatal conditions including morning sickness, heartburn, low back and pelvic pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, and high blood pressure.  Research has also shown acupuncture to be effective for reducing anxiety in expectant moms in addition to reducing labor and delivery times.  The combination of acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, and moxibustion are also commonly used for both labor induction and turning breech positioning to ensure healthy deliveries.

During this session we will review your health history, complete an initial acupuncture session, and discuss a comprehensive treatment plan. Integrative care may include prenatal massage, nutritional counseling, labor and delivery preparation, breastfeeding support, and other lifestyle modifications when appropriate. If you are currently pregnant and have additional questions regarding prenatal acupuncture, please schedule a complimentary prenatal consultation prior to scheduling an initial acupuncture appointment.
