Breastfeeding Drop-In Group
From the desk of Maria Dolorico, M.Ed.... I'm very excited to lead OMBE's Breastfeeding Drop-In Group! Come meet other moms who are breastfeeding. You'll be able to see what questions they are asking, how they are answered, and get answers and tips to your own questions regarding breastfeeding from your peers as well as from a breastfeeding counselor.
This group gets together every Wednesday from 12:00pm - 12:45pm and starts back up in September. We honor drop-ins or you can pre-register for 4 or 6 weeks. You can see pricing options by clicking here.
Maria Dolorico has a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, is a Life Coach preparing for National Board Certification through the Institute for Life Coach Training, and is a birth doula certified through Doulas of North America International. She is also a Breastfeeding Counselor trained through Childbirth International.
Maria began A Mom Is Born in 2007. Based in Boston, Maria offers birth doula services, breastfeeding support, and Life Coaching for pregnancy, postpartum, and for mothers in any stage of motherhood. She has also facilitated many mothers' groups in the Boston area.
Maria likes to help people who are searching for their voices. Whether it was in a tenure-track position on the English faculty of a community college (the career she burnt out of prior to becoming a counselor!) or as a mental health clinician at a Boston community health center, or as the owner/program manager/sole practitioner of A Mom Is Born – Maria is excited by all that people have to say once they find their voice, and the way their voice leads them to define, create, and maintain their own positive experiences, and craft and pursue goals and visions that are meaningful to them.
Mothers are constantly making decisions, amid a barrage of conflicting information and social expectations. In her work, she creates space for women to gather the information they need so that they can integrate it with their own values, and in turn make decisions that are right and for themselves and for their families. She considers it an amazing privilege to see mothers develop this sense of compassionate self through pregnancy, birth, and motherhood.
Maria lives in the South End with her husband of 17 years and 3 daughters, ages 11, 8, and, 4-1/2.
